HEARTSPEAKS (COLLECTION OF POEMS - 5)

INEM
THE LINES

It was raining, I had to save Mama's clothes.
But they weren't on the lines.
I was pissed but his whistle appeased the goddess in me.
Like a fowl trailed with corn.

I followed the sound to Papas favourite tree.
Only I forgot he had said never to look so revealing.
But those didn't matter.
He had said this tree was a symbol of love and that was what I sort.

He could climb any height to seek this smile.
Not even the rains could stop us.
He had saved Mama's clothes but has drenched me in his arms.
